It seems shallow to ask, "What is beauty?" Alternatively, should I ask, "How can you say that one possesses beauty?" Some might say, "Of course, that lass with light and clear complexion, smooth, silky, shiny hair, flickering seducing eyes, voluptuously beautiful body, and an angelic face that will certainly entomb you in your desire." But is it really? As an old adage says, "Beauty is only skin-deep." I definitely agree with it. It does not depict a person as a whole. It is mere cloak sheathing only superficies. It never shows the inner part of an individual. What would you prefer: A beautiful face or a beautiful heart? probably, you're going to answer "Of course, the beautiful heart because the heart is the emblem of beauty." To what extent?
Truth hurts. God has created us equal to each other. However, it is deplorable that as we reach the era of glorious works and triumphantly surpassed the spasms of the past domination, people change and enjoy the delight by criticizing the deficiencies of others. This idea was proven by an incident that I myself had encountered. I was about to go home one late afternoon as I passed at a certain store near downtown area. then, I saw a girl with a deep scratch on her face, which I thought, was one of the transported "maranaos". "Ugly duckling", one of them said mockingly and the rest followed.
As she turned away and made her pace to avoid further torment. I felt that half of me was sharing her pain, yet, not tantamount to the one she felt.
Is this what people know about the extent of beauty? The beauty wanted by everybody but only attained by few. for sure, no one is perfect. Moreover, no one is worthy to claim perfection because not even one is knowledgeable in the real extent of beauty. They just thought it is a thing limited by its compartment and will continue bouncing in its limitations. Doubtlessly, not one is in the proper place to give such a foolish criticism to satisfy one's own personal delight. In this case, I started to wonder: "Does anyone know the real extent of beauty?"
Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last, but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. Proverbs 31:30
